He was a very good player, but a life threatening accident washed away his dream of playing professional golf. During the 1980’s, Max spent most of time at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch, fitting and selling Adams Golf equipment. It’s there he began to wonder what made one wedge better than another? He was amazed at how small changes to the angles on the sole, leading edges and face progression could affect the ease of hitting a wedge. In 2000, Max was asked to co-design the Watson wedge with one of the greatest short game players in the history of golf, Tom Watson.
Max lives in Naples, Florida with his beautiful wife Deborah and thier two sons, Dean and Jake. In addition to Max's golf expertise, he is also a fantastic chef, specializing in classic Italian dishes.
